For a while, we’ve been calling this device the Toshiba SmartPad. You can now start calling it by its proper name: Toshiba Folio 100. Whilst you’re here, maybe you’d like to check out some leaked specifications for it.

The Folio 100 will run on Android 2.2 and a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. Expect a 10.1 inch widescreen WSVGA (1024×600 pixel) multitouch display, 16 GB of internal memory (upgradable up to 32GB with an SD MMC), 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G. Toshiba have given you two stereo speakers and a 0.5 W microphone and a battery that will stand 7 hours of use, depending on what you do with the device. You can browse the internet on Opera Mobile Browser with Flash 1.10, communicate face-to-face with a 1.3 megapixel camera and use the office applications, PDF reader, ebook reader and RSS aggregator available.

All of this will be presented to you on a 281 x 181 x 14mm tablet that weighs 760 grams. Toshiba are also planning an app store for itself. Keep your eyes peeled for a late-October, early-November release.
