With less than a week until Apple’s media event, all the buzz is around what new magic Steve Jobs will release to the public. Remember when I said I hoped they’d come out with a touchscreen shuffle? Apparently Jobs loves to rain on my parade because some leaks are telling us those square cases are for sixth-generation iPod Nanos.

I’m crying virtual tears of disappointment. It looks like the entire front will be all touchscreen, making iTunes’s cover flow twice as impressive. Now my qualm here is that it’s too small. Yes, a Nano equals small and small equals awesome, but don’t you think the touchscreen is causing it to lose its MP4 playing capabilities? Watching videos on that thing must be terrible for your eyes.

What do you guys think of a square iPod Nano?
