Apple wants to make their products more convenient by making less holes in their devices. There are currently two holes in Apple devices, one for headphones and one for microphones. Apple want to combine these to make one jack. If their are fewer holes then there is less dust, pretty smart. The one-jack idea would also enhance voice quality, thanks to the addition of an extra noise-snuffing microphone which Apple have called “audio beamforming.” More »

Some people over at UC Berkeley have recently developed a robot which is able to pair socks together. It detects the inside and out of the socks and if needed it flips them with the help of a pole. I think this invention is quite interesting, as I love everything about robots. However, this one seems unnecessary.
