Borders will be cutting its prices on all of the e-Readers that they offer, in order to contend against the competition, the Amazon Kindle and the Barnes & Nobel NOOK.

Starting this month, the Kobo eReader which was going to sell for $149.99 will drop to $129.99. The Aluratek “Libre” eBook Pro will go from $119.99 to $99.99

Borders has also annoced that it will be adding two new Android-powered models to its stock, the Velocity Micro Cruz Reader R101 ($199.99) and Cruz Tablet T103 ($299.99).

Both of the models will also offer a 7″ color touch screen, accelerometer to accommodate portrait or landscape viewing, web browsing, music player, and the option to view videos over Wi-Fi.

The Cruz Reader will be available for purchase by September 30 and you can check out the Cruz Tablet by October 15. However, you can get a head start in ordering since the Borders website is taking pre-orders now.

It is pretty impressive to see how e-Reader competition is getting so fierce, the prices are getting to be really good deals for their product - especially when they are now offering so much alongside the e-Reader function. They are getting to the point that they are offering as much power as an iPad.
