The little black box that can fit into the palm of your hand is currently being sold out of Apple stores everywhere. Sounds like the $99 Apple TV is a winner, despite the lack of rental show options.

The crazy thing here is that it’s not even your local Apple store, it’s Apple stores everywhere. From Boston to Chicago to New York, Apple stores across the country have been selling out of these wonderful devices, and I am shocked. Jobs, you’ve found your new niche.

But wait! With the release of Google TV on our heels, how will the Apple TV fare? I can smell the rivalry resurfacing, and boy am I excited. Popcorn, anyone?
