Usually companies allow customers to pre-order their products so they can get an overall of how well it would do on the market, AT&T however have changed their plans and will not be allowing pre-orders for the upcoming WP7 devices.

The Samsung focus and HTC Surround are scheduled to come out November 8th and to get one, customers have to personally go down to an AT&T retail store to purchase one.

Personally, I would probably be too lazy to go down to an AT&T just to pick up a phone but I guess if you really want to the phone then a small journey will seem like nothing.
