RIM say that their PlayBook beats the Apple iPad at web surfing- and they even have the video proof to prove it. Even though the PlayBook is not even available yet, they have Researching in Motion have been quick to start competing with Apple.

The video shows the PlayBook and the iPad (iOS 3.2.2) being taken through a series of comparison tests over a high speed network (such as IFA.com and CBS.com), Acid3 rendering test, and a Javascript performance test:

The PlayBook appears to win in every single match, even though both browsers are sources from WebKit, which was engineered by Apple.

They clearly want to show consumers that the iPad should not be an option with the PlayBook around. Not only will the PlayBook have a smaller price tag, it comes with better web browsing which also supports Adobe Flash. The PlayBook boasts a 1 GHZ dual core processor whilst the iPad runs on a single core 1 GHz processor. However, the PlayBook has a smaller display and lower resolution (1,024 by 600 pixels) when compared to the iPad (1,024 by 768).

Anybody moving over to the PlayBook side?
