The economy may have taken a turn for the worse, but companies like Google seem to be doing just fine. With offices and employees located all around the world, Google is doing pretty well in this time of global turmoil. In fact, the company just purchased a $1.8 billion office building in New York City!

The office building, located at 111 Eight Avenue, currently employs about 2,000 of the Google’s vast workforce. Google had moved in its employees in 2006, and it has since become known as the second-most concentrated and populated Google workspace in the company, second only to the headquarters in Mountain View. Google says that the purchase of the entire building is to expand the workforce at the location.
