I personally don’t ever recall Sony releasing official information on the Xperia Play — no release dates, no specs. But a lot of Chinese sources reveal all the new things about the Xperia Play, and now the Taiwanese website, ePrice, just reviewed it.
The reviewed model (model number R800i) runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread. There’s a 1GHz processor along with Adreno 205 GPU. Display is 4” FWVGA 480×854 with BRAVIA Mobile technology. In addition, there is the capability of dual microphone and two speakers for stereo sound.
For headphones there’s is 3.5 mm jack and microSD slot for memory expansion. 5MP camera with LED flash can record videos at 720p HD quality.
With Gingerbread installed, you will have the Playstation Pocket application, which launches Playstation branded games. Here is the review (in Chinese).
