A scent machine has been created that is designed to emit smells, coinciding with watching movies. It is named the ScentSciences machine.

During this year’s CEA, a broad loaf sized product was unveiled. It links with movies to give you the experience of smelling what you would if you were actually in the movie. It’s kind of unique, so why not give it a go?

Up to 20 distinct smells can be held in the scent cartridge. Up to 200 hours can be used – that’s more than enough I’d say.

These machines will probably gain high publicity one day. Let’s wait and see what a stir it causes…

Oh wow, such a cool product… but I’m afraid if there’s some yummy food on the television and I smell it, then I’m going to crave that food so bad!
I was thinking too, what if it was like the smell of a sewer though? I’d rather not smell anything then hahah

I thought of the same thing. I don’t think I’ll want this. I watch gore movies all the time and I don’t to smell the blood or putrefied bodies.
It’s a great idea to watch with cooking channels.
Having this is like watching movies at a new level.

i remember reading articles about this.
but wouldn’t it be weird to change from a sweet scene with the smell of strawberrys to a dark scene with the smell of rotten bodies?
if i remember correctly the problem was in changing the scent at the same speed as the movie changes scenes~

smelling scents during a movie would be the coolest thing! with sight and sound already included in movies, adding smell would be awesome. i hope this machine can gain more publicity!

Amazing. If I owned that I would probably only watch movies with guys from the planet Pheromone, HAHA. It could be so nice to smell guys who smell of shampoo while they don’t know you’re smelling them since they’re just in a movie! XD
Or cooking programmes! Hot sweet smell of cookies, cocoa, chocolate, cake etc. AH, I feel like dreaming. >U<
