For months now, Amazon have tested a new free home-delivery service to ensure you never have to leave your house to shop again. AmazonTote is a program that delivers items to your home as a scheduled time each week, free of charge. Items weighing 50 pounds or less qualify for the free delivery, and ships are left in a “sealed, weather-resistant tote bag up to twice a week”. More »


Echoing President Barack Obama’s wish to provide wireless internet to 98% of the United States, Google and eight other companies have recently received approval from the Federal Communications Commission to take advantage of unused broadcast frequencies to expand broadband wireless internet access for people across the nation. Web giant Google have now branched out with its email advertising with display ads. You can now see better, attractive text within adverts. Display ads simply mean ads with images. A spokesperson said, “We’re always trying out new ad formats and placements in Gmail, and we recently started experimenting with image ads on messages with heavy image content”. More »


Verizon has announced preorders for its iPhone 4 will begin at 3AM EST on February 3rd, and now to make it more exciting, they have set up a countdown on their website. Existing customers who want to get the limited first handsets will have to stay up until 3AM, staring at the countdown. More »


A study conducted by Yahoo! featuring 8,384 U.S. residents aged 13-64 has found that a staggering “86% of mobile Internet users (and 92% of 13-24s) are using their mobile devices simultaneously with TV.” More »

Companies can now pay Facebook to have users show up on their ads as part of the “Sponsored Stories.” The best part? You don’t get a say in whether or not your face will appear in the next Starbucks ad. If you “liked” a certain company’s page and you have interacted on that page in some way shape or form, then you have a chance at appear on their ad. But it’s not really as bad as it may seem. Fuji ForgeGuard is an anti-counterfeit labelling system, which allows manufacturers to use labels on their products that look like plain reflective labels to the naked eye.
