More new cameras have been confirmed by Pentax with the Optio WG1, WG1 GPS and K-5 silver edition digital SLR being the ones to look out for.

WG1 is both shockproof and crushproof, being able to stand a freefall of up to 1.5 metres, and can withstand a weight of up to 100 kg. As well as that, it can be cold proof for up to -10 degrees Celsius, and you can take photos under water for as deep as 10 metres.

Optio WG1 GPS has nearly the same features, but also includes geotagging, thanks to a built in GPS function automatically storing your position. So you can glance over them, and locate the photos on the Google earth system.

Both cameras have a 14 megapixel CCD sensor, a wide angle 5x optical zoom, and both utilize a 2.7 inch LCD screen with a 230,000 dots resolution. HD video recording is also available, and an “enhanced microscope”, so you can enlarge photos for up to x6.
