The Korea Economic Daily reckon that, subject to a new parts contract being signed, giant Samsung will have fellow giant Apple as one of its biggest customers this year (even though it already buys so much off Samsung!) Approximately $7.8 billion is expected to be paid by Apple to the Korean company for electronic parts, e.g. LCD panels, mobile processors, and NAND flash memory chips which would make up what we see as the iPad and the iPhone.

Super PLS displays, with resolutions of 1280×800 compared to the current iPad’s 1024×768) might be offered by Samsung for future generations of the iPad (not the second as it is already under construction). $3.9 billion investment was recently spent by Apple for unknown parts, and display are suspected to be the expense as Apple venture into multi-touch and Retina Displays.

Supplying for and competing with Apple eh, Samsung? Not doing too badly then I see.
