The government spends millions of dollars yearly on school improvements and technology, and this is just another one of them. With $9 million of support, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced 20 pilot programs that are to receive government funding to pay for “wireless broadband connections for laptops, smart phones and other mobile devices, which students will be able to take with them after the school day ends.” More »

Toyota Prius V, which was unveiled in Detroit in January, will reportedly hit Japanese showrooms next month and it will be priced at ¥3 million (about $37,000). The Japanese Prius V will get fancy Li-ion batteries in the floor, which leaves room for a third row of seats. The US version, however, will get a bigger set of cells like the in the current Prius, which is a nickel metal hydride pack. This means the US version won’t have those seats in the back. More »

As Panasonic previously promised, they have now revealed the prices for the Lumix ZS10, ZS8 and FX78 point-and-shoot cameras, introduced in late January along with the rugged Lumix TS3. The four are set to be released late this month, and share Leica lenses, HD video recording capabilities and Panasonic’s iA full-auto scene mode. The ZS10 will cost $400, The ZS8 $300, the FX78 $350 and the TS3 $400. More »
