There’s yet another legal dispute between Apple Corps and Apple Inc., as Apple Inc. has recently applied for Granny Smith’s apple logo trademark in the European Trademarks Office. The applications were filed under 13 International Classifications including computer hardware, online social networking services, mobile phones, musical instruments, games, clothing/headgear, advertising, education and broadcasting. The Penny Arcade Expo East is shaping out to be the everyman’s E3: an enormous expo dedicated to all things video game. This year’s expo will see the likes of Duke Nukem, Gears of War 3, Portal 2, Bioshock Infinite, L.A. Noire and many others. Each game will include it’s own booth, many of them being playable. Panasonic has introduced its new solar table concept at a recent security show in Tokyo, Japan. The table is covered in solar panels and it has antennas that will transmit power to mobile devices wirelessly using the Qi wireless charging technology. You only have to put your phone on top of the table. However, the solar panels have to stay uncovered, or else it will stop working. More »


Apple was rumored to be including a NFC (Near Field Communication) hardware in January for their next generations of the iPhone and iPad, but that has just been declared false. Since the iPad 2 was released without the NFC, it is highly probable that the upcoming iPhone 5 will not be getting the “wave and pay” hardware as well. More »


Apple may have sold close to 500 000 iPad 2s for their debut weekend, says Piper Jaffray Cos. analyst Gene Munster, since stores like Best Buy, Target and the Apple Store sold out of the device.
