Unbelievable right? Studies show that social media sites such as Facebook trigger the release of hormone oxytocin. Guess what other action triggers this hormone? Cuddling! Dr. Paul J Zak, a professor at Claremont Graduate University, performed a series of blood tests on people before and after they used Facebook. And the results show that after using Facebook, there was an increase of the hoormone oxytocin in their blood stream.
This is a pretty cool find; maybe this is why people are so addicted to Facebook. His studies also show that people with higher oxytocin levels are more likely to donate to charity and respond positively to the public. Which basically means that after being on Facebook for quite a while, you will become a nicer and more charitable person.
I like the sound of that. Maybe this study here will be able to change some parent’s minds about not letting their kids get a Facebook!

wow that is ridiculous. cannot believe people release the same hormone while being on facebook/twitter as when they are cuddling. i guess that is why some people are really addicted to these social networkings
