A near field communications chip will not be featured in Apple’s next generation iPhone, according to analyst group Bernstein Research’s report. Bloom and care of Business Insider picked up that report, and it comes over a tear after indications.
Those indications were that Apple were exploring use of NFC chips in its mobile devices. There’s been quite a bit of controversy in reports since then. Data transfer between devices is allowed by NFC are short distances.
In September, Apple’s next iPhone is expected to be unveiled. And a report from last week was among several recent reports that have reported Apple releasing a souped up variant of the iPhone 4 with faster internals and a better camera.
