Apple has received test displays from LG and Samsung to see which one is more suitable for the company’s next tablet. This has been unconfirmed by Apple, but it is thought that the new QXGA displays will stay 9.7″, the screen resolution will increase to 2048 x 1536, and pixels-per-inch will exceed 280.

LCD is the choice of Apple since it has a longer lifespan and better resolution than AMOLED panels. All this combined with a retina display will guarantee no ordinary viewing experience.

Apple’s ongoing legal battle with Samsung may give LG an advantage, but LG must at least equal Samsung’s quality and price. Other criteria include power consumption, color reproduction, and response times.

Which manufacturer do you expect to win?
