Recently Sprint announced that the WiMAX version of the BlackBerry PlayBook will be canceled.
RIM is suffering since Sprint says that there isn’t a high enough demand for a WiMAX PlayBook.
Instead, RIM will run a 4G PlayBook on a LTE network.
Rim has said, “RIM has decided to prioritize and focus its 4G development resources on LTE. We remain excited and committed to delivering innovative and powerful 4G tablets to the U.S. market together with our carrier partners.”
The certification process of the network is expected to begin in the fall.
