The name of the game is ultrawidescreen, something that Digital Projection’s latest beamer is set to focus on. With most movie lovers and 1080p projector users leaning towards watching more films in a 2.35:1 ratio (rather than the 16:9 ratio of tradition HD projectors), the company hopes to support that with their upcoming dVision Scope 1080p.

Set up to be simple to use, you don’t even need to attach any anamorphic lenses, since the projector’s custom firmware can automatically detect and resize itself to fill the viewing screen.

More information to come when this new projector from Digital Projector and others are shown at CEDIA 2011 in September.

Pretty sweet addition to anyone’s home theater though.
