Skype has recently developed a new beta for Mac users out there, which involves the connection between Skype and Facebook, and is determined to bring more convenience through the available option for Facebook users to video chat.

To use the new integration, all you have to do is click the “Link to Facebook” button found on Skype’s homepage. Your contacts will then show up altogether through a hybrid view. Then Skype will present you a page that looks almost identical with Facebook’s News Feed. The “Like” button, the “comment” button, and even a bar that allows you to do status updates. And for those contacts who also owns Skype, you can also call them instantly like the original Skype, but only with your Facebook friends instead.

But as sweet as this sounds, everything comes with a cost. Skype is now putting display ads in front of the users who don’t have any Skype credit. So if you’re not exactly a big fan of the update and would still like to enjoy the free service, stick with what’s available right now would probably be a good idea.
