The Blackberry Playbook is doing pretty badly in the tablet market, and we all know that. Discounts are going on everywhere, but apparently those were only by retailers, and not RIM itself.

According to RIM’s recent statement, the retail price of the Playbook is staying the same until the launch of discounts later on this fall. So basically the discounts aren’t exactly official currently, and could possibly mean that the retailers’ price cuts will probably have an end sooner or later. It would be too good of a deal for double discounts.

So well if you’ve been thinking about getting a Playbook sometime, it may not be a bad idea getting one right now, or you’ll have to wait until RIM’s discounts kick in.
