In recent weeks, the A6 processor for the upcoming iPad 3 tablet has caused quite a stir among many people. Now, it appears that Samsung are still potential suppliers for the next generation iPad and iPhone chips.

An industry source revealed “Apple has been in talks with Samsung over shipment of its A6 quad core chip”. A delay for the A6 processor has been speculated, in the past, to be pushed back until the middle of next year.

This would spell difficulty for Apple in their bid to release the iPad 3 in the first quarter of 2012. And the source added, “Samsung has been increasing the output of the Apple-designed A6 chips in its manufacturing plant in Austin, Texas”.

So, there is quite a lot more work to be done before Apple can release that highly anticipated new tablet. Until then though, we’ll have to see what happens concerning this A6 processor.
