On Tuesday, Amazon released the long-anticpated iPad competitor, the Kindle Fire. While Apple has had an iron grip on the tablet market ever since the release of its iPad, the Kindle Fire isn’t your average tablet. Amazon was pretty smart in developing a tablet; they took their time to consider what consumers really need, unlike other major companies who had rushed on making an iPad clone. Instead of copying Apple’s wonder slate, Amazon simply renovated its e-reader formula into a tablet-like device. What exactly does the Kindle Fire have that the iPad doesn’t? You might be surprised at the following features.
#1: Cheap, Very Cheap
Apple might know how to build an irresistible gadget, but Amazon certainly knows how to price one. The iPad’s starting price of $499 isn’t very appealing to budget-minded buyers, and Amazon is well aware of that. The Fire, with its low $199 price tag, has the computing chops to execute most common tablet computing activities with ease (not to mention it’s a fraction of the iPad’s price).
#2: Advantageous 7″ Screen Size
We’ve come to accept 10″ as the standard screen size for tablets, as the iPad and its copycats have all been the same. The newest member of the Kindle family, however, has a 7″ screen, and is definitely lighter (14.6 ounces) and more portable than even the iPad 2.
#3: Online Shopping
As the world’s biggest online retailer, Amazon has a whole wealth of resources just waiting for you to get a hold on them. Along with digital content, you get access to the kind of stuff you’d order and watch show up in the mail. The Fire also has Amazon’s own app store, music, books, and marketplace!
#4: Unlimited Cloud Storage
Amazon offers free (that’s right, FREE) cloud storage for anything you buy through the device, which means that you won’t have to worry about its 8GB built-in storage. This also means that any books, movies, music, and apps you buy on the Kindle Fire will be stored in the cloud and available for streaming or downloading over wifi.
#5: Nonstop Streaming
With the purchase of a Kindle Fire, you get a free month of Prime, which not only means free two-day shipping for nearly anything in Amazon’s catalog, but also unlimited streaming access to 10,000 movies and TV shows, as well as borrowed ebooks through the Kindle Lending Library. The premium service itself costs $79 annually, which is quite a good price.
Does this make you want to buy the Kindle Fire? I know I’m convinced!

starting with the price alone ..it’s awesome . to have all these features ..and they still managed to make it this cheap .. it’s really a huge thing :D ~ it will open a new way for competition and we might end up having a lot of products go cheaper to compete with the kindle fire ..
