We’ve reported before that the Apple is replacing first-gen iPod Nanos that face battery problems. It turned out that the company is actually replacing them with the exact same model, so some people might be disappointed after hoping for an upgrade to the latest generation touchscreen model.
Some customers have already received their replacements, which apparently are first gen iPod Nano refurbished units with a 90 day warranty. They look new without the wear and tear of five or six years’ worth of use, but they come with the same capacity and same color.
If you still want to get your iPod Nano replaced, go to Apple’s replacement program to submit your request and Apple will send you a box with shipping instructions to mail your device.

Sounds pretty cool. I’m not affected though because I don’t own a first generation ipod.

mine isn’t one of those :D

That’s just fair as long as the replacements don’t have the battery problems.
Agreed ~ plus an upgrade for every user with a defective first gen nano would be too costly for Apple. Thank goodness I’m not affected by this - later gen.

Well, they first bought the iPod because they liked it, but the only problem is the battery...so now that Apple already fix it, it should be alright
