From Ningin: I’ve been sitting here for the past five minutes trying to think of some funny or sarcastic thing to write about this, but honestly, I have nothing new to add. The gross horror that is a Japanese School Girl robot more or less speaks for itself. More »

From Wirebot:

If you follow my posts, you may be beginning to sense a theme. I love finding ways in which video games help people (largely because I’m sick of nay-sayers who claim that video games are inherently bad… but let’s not get into a philosophical discussion here). Yet again, video games are proving to be helpful: a group of students from Singapore Polytechnic are creating video games to help people who have suffer . More »

Although Alexa already mentioned this new piece of hardware, I again wanted to draw attention to something that is both a blessing and a curse to the world of gaming. 1up.com has posted a gallery of them comparing the new Nintendo DSi XL to other portable devices. More »

From Ningin: Most of the stuff Japan creates I’m in awe of, one way or another. And a lot of it, we use and enjoy. But what about the other rejects that don’t quite make American shores? I can see the conversation now. “Mr. Panasonic, I really loved that thing you call an LCD-HDTV you invented and sent to my house yesterday, as I watch movies on It with all my friends and family. But sorry, I really didn’t find a place for your umbrella shoes, my store shelves are full”. Oh and good luck– like you could say this directly to the Japanese directors face without getting sliced and diced by his Ginsu he invented just last Christmas! Without further ado, in no particular rank, here are some really lame, or strange inventions! More »

From Wirebot: In Guitar Hero 3, can you not miss a single note on expert? Get the highest score on Crazy Train? Actually be able to complete Dragonforce’s Through the Fire and The Flames? Live in Rhode Island!? Okay, I know that last one wasn’t as exciting, but it really is the only one necessary for participation!

What I am getting at is the announcement of the first Wirebot Gaming Tournament: The Guitar Hero Rock the Box Tournament! This will be taking place on December 2nd, 2009 in Kingston, Rhode Island at the University of Rhode Island at 8pm! We will be pitting the sixteen participants who sign up here on Wirebot against each other in a single elimination bracket. You advance yourself by simply getting a better score than your opponent. Pretty simple. Just make sure you can play hard mode. We don’t mess around with n00bs. More »

From Wirebot:

In the great debate of “who is better, ninjas or pirates,” we have a new contender. Bill gates and the Microsoft crew have decided to take a crack at those dastardly swashbucklers. And no, I’m not talking about Johnny Depp and his crew of drunken plunderers. I’m talking about the good old fashioned, twenty first century, software pirates. More »

From Ningin: Nissan took a page out of the lives of bees and fish when it designed the Eporo. While these little guys are not yet big enough to hold a family of four, they’re the first step in revolutionizing driver-less cars. More »

From Wirebot:

In this world, there are two types of people: Those who are a one partner kind of person and those who like to date around. There are pros and cons to both types, the first leaving you with a sense of pride and allegiance and the other just being more fun, although a bit dirty. I mean granted, even if you are one to date around, you could still end up falling for one harder than the others. Same goes for being tied to one lover; You’re still going to be tempted by the fruits of another.

No, you are not reading a dating advice site, this is still Wirebot. My question is, who said a lover or a partner had to be human? I know my Xbox gets more go time than anything else in my life, if you know what i mean. More »

From Ningin: I’ll give you one guess as to which Asian country came up with this gem of an idea. More »
