Back at the Consumer Electronics Show in early January of this year, Sony revealed its latest “home appliance” called the “dash.” The dash is designed to be a family orientated device that gives people the convenience to schedule events, check the weather, read the news, and more. More »

The Boogie Board may well be my next purchase, because it is simple, yet deviously effective. With all the talk about tablet PCs being released, one can be quite overwhelmed with the specs and features being thrown at oneself. The Boogie Board, by Improv Electronics, is a device that allows for two basic functions: drawing and erasing. More »

I’m not going to lie; I would totally be willing to drop $160 on the Yantouch Jellyfish LED Lamp. Unfortunately, the lamp, claiming to be able to display 16 million colors, is currently only available in Japan. More »

It’s hard, depressing times being my sofa. The only action it gets is me sitting on it and not much else. By no means is this the fault of my stagnant love life — I just don’t own a Glowing Belly Love sofa. As a Indian ocean coral-inspired sofa with tentacles that caress your body and release a fragrance, the Glowing Belly Love sofa may very well be the cure to the lack of action I get these days. Did I mention it also glows? Bow-chicka-wow-wow. More »

The Tub-E Bathtub is yet another product aside from the LED shower that raises the same question of, “Would you bathe in that?” Upon first glance, it looks like an over-glorified, futuristic plant pot. I’d use it to stick a small palm or bamboo tree if no one told me it was actually a bathtub. What supposedly sets this bathtub apart from the rest is that it has a thermostatically controlled heater under the seat keeps the water at a constant temperature. Everything about it is automated — it cleans itself, empties itself and injects bath oils when you need them. More »

Visentin’s LED shower heads are kind of confusing. Confusing in that I don’t know if it’s actually a shower or a teleportation device. Or maybe both? What’s sets this shower head apart from your average shower head is that it attaches to the ceiling and features cascading LED light. According to Visentin, the LED light is supposed to be therapeutic with different LED light colors meant for healing, relaxation or rejuvenation. More »

I have much in common with fat kids: cake. As a former fat kid, I couldn’t be more impressed with the Magisso Cake Server. This stainless steal wonder works graciously with a light squeeze to lift out a perfectly shaped piece of cake from your cake. Never had I imagined a technique far more efficient than using a trusted cake knife to get cut cake and place it on your platter! More »

It’s true. Along with the rest of the female species, I, too, have the problem of an overall lack of upper body strength. As hard and fierce my regular exercise regimen is, I have never overcome the problem of me almost always needing assistance in opening jars. Black and Decker Lids Off Jar Opener is something I desperately need in life. More »

My Cuisinart coffee maker and I, we have this amazing relationship. It does everything I tell it to do, doesn’t talk back, makes me happy, rejuvenates my soul…you get it. Words almost can’t describe how much I cherish my relationship with good ol’ Cuisy. Words on the other hand, can describe the Primula Speak N’ Brew Coffee Maker. It literally talks and understands voice commands! Granted, with Cuisy, I have to push buttons here and there, but if I don’t have to go through that extra effort…I’m feeling a little tempted to cheat. More »

YouTube is being taken to another level. A group of students at Japan’s Keio University have decided that we all need to watch YouTube videos while warming something up in a microwave. Yup, these guys put together a concept where, depending on how long it takes for you to warm something up, a video of that same length would play. Once it’s over, the food gets warm up. More »

You know the saying “Too many cooks in the kitchen” or “Too many chefs spoil the soup” ? This new gadget from Kenwood kicks both of those statements right in the teeth. More »

Nothing can put a damper on a Thanksgiving dinner like a bowel-emptying dose of food poisoning. Well that, and your drunk aunt or uncle airing out all the family’s dirty laundry. This gadget can’t help with the latter it can definitely handle the former situation. More »

Fried turkey is delicious…and dangerous. Over the years, we’ve seen countless videos of houses set ablaze and the holidays ruined thanks to careless mistakes or lack of proper research. Yet the siren’s call of incredibly moist and flavorful turkey still lures many a cook to a Thanksgiving Day disaster. More »

Here is something very surprising, something that blew my mind when I saw it, a vending machine in Tokyo, for burgers. Now, this is an amazing idea and a tasty one at that. The land of the rising sun is being dominated by vending machines, dispensing anything from t-shirts, all the way to cigarettes and Coca Cola on credit. More »

The weather this summer in NYC was pretty nasty. It rained everyday and the need for an AC went out the window, except for a few muggy days. But for many in California and other parts of the country, you could have used the HandyCooler personal air conditioner. HandyCooler says the $40 A/C will lower temperatures up to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. While that’s a bold claim, it can’t hurt to have something cool blow in your face. More »
