As a Southern California native, I’m completely immersed in the commuter culture of this region of the US. This means all the funny things you can put on your car to make some sort of a statement. Take for example the Mecha Car Warning decal. It states, “Caution: Car Turns Into A Robot.” More »

The Tub-E Bathtub is yet another product aside from the LED shower that raises the same question of, “Would you bathe in that?” Upon first glance, it looks like an over-glorified, futuristic plant pot. I’d use it to stick a small palm or bamboo tree if no one told me it was actually a bathtub. What supposedly sets this bathtub apart from the rest is that it has a thermostatically controlled heater under the seat keeps the water at a constant temperature. Everything about it is automated — it cleans itself, empties itself and injects bath oils when you need them. More »

From Ningin: Day 1 of the first official MLG tournament has proven to be a victorious one for Ningin so far. Not that I’m biased because I’m Queen Jinranidas and team captain for Ningin, but I think if Team Ningin continues at this pace, it’s likely we’ll take this win. Check out the current MLG Tournament games report to see for yourself. More »

Most human beings have it easier than computers. Take myself for example — it doesn’t take much to get me to fall asleep. Computers on the other hand, it’s a little complicated. Luckily, the Go To Sleep! USB Button ($16) allows you to put your computer to sleep with just a tap of a button. Ideally, this would be great for babies or insomniacs, but seeing as humans don’t have USB ports, the Go To Sleep! USB Button is limited to both PC and MAC use. More »

There are smartphones, and now…smartglasses. Damjan Stakovic’s Cipher Drinking Glasses are the only glasses that fall into the smartglasses classification. (A gadget classification term I just totally made up right now.) What’s smart about these glasses is that due to some unknown technology, the glasses have a mosaic of dots on the outside of the glass that can somehow can detect specific liquids. These dots then spell out the type of drink you have in the glass. More »

Visentin’s LED shower heads are kind of confusing. Confusing in that I don’t know if it’s actually a shower or a teleportation device. Or maybe both? What’s sets this shower head apart from your average shower head is that it attaches to the ceiling and features cascading LED light. According to Visentin, the LED light is supposed to be therapeutic with different LED light colors meant for healing, relaxation or rejuvenation. More »

Popular singer/songwriter John Mayer announced today that he’ll be partaking in a digital cleanse. From Jan. 1 at 9 a.m. to Jan. 8 at 9 am, he’ll be restricting his use of…technology. He insists that while we usually defrag our computers, it’d be a great idea to defrag our “mental and psychological hard drives.” According to John Mayer, technology has done our brains a disservice in the way we now handle small bursts of information via Twitter, text and email. The digital cleanse will help our brains. Read on for details of John Mayer’s Digital Cleanse. More »
