Recently, Dish Network bought Blockbuster to go against Netflix for online streaming of television and movies. Dish will be delivering on-demand movies to consumers. Not to take pleasure in other people’s misfortune, but video rental store Blockbuster has finally applied for bankruptcy. Peek, the tiny device dedicated to email and messaging is now expanding to include social networking service, Twitter. The Peek is currently available in nationwide Blockbusters. Peek users who buy their device from any Blockbuster will also receive a free month of Blockbuster Total Access (similar to Netflix), and BR disks that can be received by mail or picked up in-store. Blockbuster is making a comeback after the emergence of Netflix and other video streaming sites. Blockbuster has decided to take it a step further and allow their Blockbuster OnDemand movies for download on new Motorola phones.

Users of this service will be able to download movies straight to their phone on the go, which will drastically improve the movie watching experience through Blockbuster. Blockbuster has stated that they will allow thousands of current OnDemand selections for download on select Motorola phones. More »
