From Htcyou: The Dell Streak, despite being a rather impressive handset in itself, got off to a disappointing start with its belated launch in the US after only receiving the outdated Android 1.6 OS system whereas its UK cousin received the sparkling Android 2.1 OS system. As well as this, the $549 phone was still sim-locked! This looks like it’s not going to change thanks to AT&T; tightly hugging the sim-locked model but it looks like Dell is going to try and make amends for the former blow. More »

Dell’s Streak 5″ smartphone tablet is going to launch on June 4th in the UK for free with £25 per month O2 contract or £35 per month with voice and unlimited data. Outright sale of the device is £429 ($621). More »


Dell’s stance on the Streak is that it “is a data device first and a voice device second.” The UK will be the first nation to receive the slate Android smartphone, followed by continental Europe and then rest of the globe before the conclusion of summer. At the Citrix Synergy Conference on Thursday, Michael Dell whipped out the 5″ Android Streak smartphone and proclaimed that it will be available in Europe through Telefonica next month, and that AT&T is carrying it Stateside later this summer. More »
