Nokia is also anticipating a massive hit in its global smartphone market share to Google Android handsets and Apple iPhone. Among the four main American carriers, BlackBerry has slipped from the top spot. Sprint’s top seller is the HTC Evo 4G; T-Mobile’s front-runner is the MyTouch 3G Slide; the Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid are kings of Verizon, and the iPhone 4 is obviously AT&T’s darling now. From Htcyou: HTC has confirmed that the Droid Incredible, Evo 4G, MyTouch Slide, and Desire are on the priority list to receive Android 2.2 updates, but none of them is getting the new OS until the second half of this year. Although HTC has not made a statement about 2009 models, the adverb that “most” 2010 units will get FroYo indicates to me that there is no chance for the likes of the G1, MyTouch 3G, and Droid Eris since not “all” 2010 smartphones will be upgraded.
