From Htcyou: Mozilla’s mobile port of my favorite web browser is quickly progressing. This week, the developers uploaded a few pictures of Fennec running on a Motorola Droid and a Nexus One. Programmer Mark Finkle also has a slide-show presentation about FireFox for mobile devices. More »

From Htcyou: Adobe’s MWC appearance revealed something big: only smartphones with ARM Cortex-A8 or faster processors will run Flash 10.1 properly. Also, 50Mb of free RAM is required, but all current Android devices have this covered; unfortunately, in North America, only the Nexus One and Motorola Droid have the CPU requirements, so this means that the HTC Magic (myTouch), Dream (G1), Hero, Motorola CLIQ, and other top selling Android phones will not be supported. The rumors of the Verizon and Skype love affair were true! Starting next month, a handful of compatible smart phones on the Verizon Wireless network will be able to gain access to Skype software that will allow for unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls with a Verizon 3G plan. More »

From Htcyou: Even though Acer’s Liquid is in many ways inferior to Google’s Nexus One, the former has been a hot commodity, while the latter has barely had a sales pulse because Acer’s phone is actually much cheaper when import taxes are imposed. In the States, the Nexus One is $529, but getting one in the UK costs around £440 after VAT and other fees. In contrast, the Liquid can be had for as little as £333.70 with VAT. More »

From Htcyou: Best Buy is now taking pre-orders for the Motorola Milestone, which is slated to ship on the 18th. You can put a deposit of $50 for the phone today. Motorola did not let the Nexus One’s multi-touch update go unchallenged, as the Droid has received an over-the-air multi-touch update of its own. More »

From Htcyou: Motorola’s imminent Devour Verizon smartphone, despite using an older Android 1.6 build, will have Adobe Flash Lite®, which even the Droid still does not possess. Also, Telus has once again omitted Manitoba and Saskatchewan from another smartphone release, as the Milestone (Droid) will not be available in those two desolate provinces. More »

From Akazawa, PLEN is a 9″ robot that is powered by a 33 MHz ARM7 processor and can be controlled by Bluetooth from your computer or Android smartphone. If you have $2999.99, then you can import this “Desktop Hobby” droid from Japan. More »

From Htcyou: Amazon is presently offering the Motorola’s Droid for $109.99 with a new 2-year Verizon contract. At 854 x 480, the Droid has the highest resolution screen of any Android smartphone. More »

From Htcyou: The Motorola Milestone (aka Droid) has been in American hands since early winter of last year, but Canadians have been left out in the cold as usual. Although no official date has been set yet, Telus is preparing the Milestone’s launch in Canada, possibly by the Olympics. More »

Smart phones are the future of communication but some are just too expensive to buy. Keep in mind that almost every smart phone usually requires a 2 to 4 year contract. Smart phones are advancing everyday, they are always adding new features and all of this can get confusing for someone who is in the market for one. So, here at ZiggyTek, we’ve decided to put together the top 5 bargain smartphones that combine simplicity, ease, and high tech features without all of the random numbers and extra prices. More »

Motorola seems to be all over the place these days, releasing one handset after another. Recently, Motorola released the DROID which did a good job of using the Android platform to fight off the iPhone and the new HTC Hero. Now, Motorola is planning another one. While this one doesn’t seem like one of those ‘killer phones’, it does have a good price point and decent features which makes it a great Christmas present. The newest phone, is dubbed the Crush, which seems a little ironic because that’s what Motorola is trying to do its competitors. The Crush, an EV-DO Rev.0 device, comes with a 2.8” touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels), 2 megapixel camera, virtual on-screen QWERTY keypad, Stereo Bluetooth for connectivity and even a 3.5mm handsfree port. Has the iPhone lost it’s luster? This past week, after all the Droid and HTC news with Verizon, I’ve been considering leaving AT&T and the iPhone behind and moving to an Android based phone on the Sprint network because of the Employee family plan discounts (which are awesome).

I currently have an iPhone 3G, pay for a text messaging plan, and data, while sharing the minutes with my family (4 extra lines). The monthly bill comes out to around $170 (after taxes), and that’s not including data or texting on any other phone besides mine. At the same time, the Sprint Everything Plus Referral Program, offers 1600 minutes, unlimited texting and data for every line (5 lines) for around $155 before taxes (should be between $175-180 after taxes). That’s a big difference considering my siblings all want texting on their phones and one of them needs data cuz she’s doesn’t use her computer much. So, what’s holding me back from going through with this plan? The high ETF fees. More »

Is the iPhone falling behind? That’s the question that is running through many of our minds at this point. With the release of the new Droid, its obvious that other phone manufacturers are capturing the mesmerizing features of the iPhone UI into their own. The new HTC Hero touch screen interface resembles that of the iPhone. The touchscreen ease is about the same and it allows excellent personalization which the iPhone lacks. More »

Verizon is making some big ripples this month, and they are some interesting ones indeed. Verizon is believed to be receiving the new Motorola Droid, a small cube of Android goodness, sporting a full fledged QWERTY keyboard. The new iPhone bashing video (after the break) shows no signs of what the Droid has in store for us, instead listing a bunch of features on the iPhone that the Droid can do better.

BoyGeniusReport recently received a prototype of the Droid and it seems as if Motorola is packing some serious heat to blast themselves back into the game. The Motorola Droid is running a TI Omap 3430 processor, giving it the power to be the “fastest Android phone”. The phone also has a full QWERTY slide out keyboard from its slim exterior, and it comes with a charger/stand that allows the phone to be an alarm clock and a weather station. More »
