Notion Ink’s very promising Adam tablets have been pushed back to November. In February, when the company enthusiastically showed off the slate, the targeted release was June/July. OK, the word “obsolete” is overused and misused (as in this headline), but “Oak Trail” is the next Intel Atom platform that will power Windows 7 and Google Android tablets and slates beginning Q1 2011. Oak Trail is more energy efficient (particularly crucial for tablets), has lower TDP, is 40% smaller, and 30% thinner than Menlow. Furthermore, Oak Trail features on-chip HD video decoding that will enable tablets to play 720p/1080p film without slowdown. More »
