It has been a long and painful journey, but Adobe has finally given Flash 10.1 to its mobile platform partners using the following operating systems: “Android, BlackBerry, webOS, Windows Phone 7 Series, LiMo, MeeGo and Symbian.” Flash 10.1 on Android requires 2.2 FroYo, which is unofficially available for Google’s Nexus One and will be run on many Android smartphones by Q4 of this year. Adobe had kept its supporters waiting, but now the “F” ball is in their courts. Let the hunt for crashes, bugs, and security holes begin. Nokia is also anticipating a massive hit in its global smartphone market share to Google Android handsets and Apple iPhone. Among the four main American carriers, BlackBerry has slipped from the top spot. Sprint’s top seller is the HTC Evo 4G; T-Mobile’s front-runner is the MyTouch 3G Slide; the Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid are kings of Verizon, and the iPhone 4 is obviously AT&T’s darling now. Quite a bit of speculation has surrounded the processor and graphics of Nintendo’s 3DS handheld, which some had guessed might have NVIDIA’s Tegra. Digital Media Professionals (who?) has just quashed many rumors by officially announcing that its proprietary 3D graphics chip Pica200 is inside the 3DS. That is correct: Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, the P1000 model, looks like it is a smartphone in addition to being a primary multimedia tablet (like the Dell Streak). Can you imagine people making calls on the P1000’s Super-AMOLED 7-inch display? More »

From Htcyou: Before the end of the year, Motorola will have an Android 2.2 FroYo smartphone that is powered by a 2GHz processor (battery life grimaces) with NVIDIA’s Tegra chip. Stateside, Motorola has kept fairly quiet in the midst of paramount launches from closest Android rival HTC, but with the Droid Xtreme, Droid 2, and the 2GHz model set for Q3-Q4 releases, the American phone corporation should strike back intensely. Here is one more great application that the iPad cannot use, Google Goggles, which, soon the iPhone will have. Goggles allows users to photograph QR codes, text, and pictures, then Google for search results. The Android version of the program features a highly practical language text translation too. More »
