There are now “pirated” copies of the operating system for non-developers on Usenet and Torrent. Apple developers can now download and install the Gold Master release of iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4). If you are not a developer, then I am sure you are resourceful enough to find the operating system floating around somewhere, although without a developer UUID, your installation will be rejected anyway. In a live interview at D8 with Walt Mossberg, Steve Jobs had some juicy things to say about the whole Gizmodo/Brian J Hogan/Jason Chen iPhone 4G/HD prototype scandal.
