Marvell has been proponents of ultra low-cost mobile CPUs for a long time. Currently, ARM (Samsung) has a stranglehold on the smartphone chip market, powering most Android phones, the iPhone, and upcoming tablets. From Htcyou: Unknown company Haleron has an equally obscure Android smartphone called the Swordfish G5, which sports a 3″ LCD (240 x 400) with multi-touch, a Marvell PXA310 624MHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, and dual SIM card slots. More »


From Htcyou: Here is an obscure one: small, privately owned Saygus unveiled its VPhone, which is the world’s first two-way video calling smartphone, and it packs some pretty good specifications as well –including a 3.5″ (800 x 480) LCD, Marvell PXA310 800MHz CPU, 5 megapixel camera, and a full QWERTY keypad; it even has a modem! enTourage has had to make a minor price increase of its versatile, duo-screen eDGe e-reader/tablet: new pre-orders, which will ship in March, are now $9 more than before at $499. The price bump is due to Documents To Go software. Unlike Apple’s iPad, the eDGe has two LCDs and is truly unique in that it is a genuine e-reader and a netbook in one. More »
