In an aim to make the U.S. International Trade Commission case against Barnes & Noble an easier one to deal with, Microsoft have dropped one of its patent infringement claims against the e-reader selling firm. The trial date for the “522 patent” (concerning displaying tabs in web browsers) is now quite close and Microsoft has removed this certain claim not because the patent is not valid or because Barnes and Noble are infringing it.
