After opening just 11 stores in the past two years, Microsoft has finally decided that it’s opening stores a little to slow to battle Apple domination. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has recently mocked Apple’s Mac sales numbers at the Worldwide Partner Conference. He compared the number of Windows PCs sold in the last twelve months, which is about 350 million units, to the 20 million units sold by an unnamed competitor. More »

Microsoft may not be dominating the mobile market with its WP7, but it shows that it wants to get there eventually and is doing everything in its power to make its Mango update amazing. In the latest Mango updates, the Microsoft mobile team has been working on Bing Indoor Maps and Visual Voicemail, which are both fine specimens in their own rights. Microsoft has released a new Touch Mouse known as the Explorer Touch Mouse. It seems to be a mix of the Touch Mouse and Arc Mouse and comes in a nice blue hue (my favorite color). It also comes with BlueTrack technology and scrollpad that can be found on the Arc. More »

From Wirebot: Microsoft may not like to comment on rumors, but that doesn’t stop people from speculating a change in its Xbox 360 and Zune Marketplace service. Apparently, rumor has it that the service will soon have a streaming subscription option. This will join the Xbox 360’s current Netflix and Hulu Plus options, if it indeed does come to fruition. It’s a sad time for Hohm users. Microsoft has announced that the utility monitoring service will say its farewells come May 2012 since not many people have used the service.
