There are many things in life that I don’t understand and the new Sony Ericsson Xperia phone is one of them. Available online via Saks Fifth Avenue for a hefty price of $990, the Xperia phone is the world’s first mobile phone with a transparent liquid crystal LCD screen, offering ground-breaking miniaturization technology in the battery, memory card and antenna. CTIA holds an industry survey a couple times a year to gauge the health of the mobile industry and they just released the results of their latest survey. According to the survey wireless data service revenue hit more than $19.4 billion for the first half of 2009, a 31% increase over this time last year. Amazon.com has launched a new Beta site, Amazon Wireless, an online store where you can purchase cellphone plans from AT&T, Verizon and coming soon, T-Mobile and Sprint. Amazon has been known to provide discounts through rebates for various phone plans if bought on their website but the new site offers instant discounts, negating the need to go through the rebate process.
