From Htcyou: So much for that griped about locked bootloader preventing root access to the ROM, the Motorola Droid X has been rooted, so owners no longer have to be forced into using everything that has been thrown into the stock Moto ROM. The embedded video takes you through the process of performing the root. More »

Once upon a time, cell phones were simple radios that allowed two people to speak to each other. Today, smartphones include voice calling almost as an afterthought, and manufacturers load their top models with so many features that the phones could conceivably replace their owners’ cameras, music players, and netbooks. Motorola’s Droid X is off to a rousing start, as it excites gadget geeks and smartphone lovers across America. Find out why Verizon’s latest Droid might be the greatest of them all. More »

From Htcyou: Although online orders of the Droid X from Verizon could take until the 23rd to be shipped, brick and mortar Verizon stores are reportedly still receiving regular shipments of the uber popular device. More »

From Htcyou: Verizon nailed the original Droid release perfectly, pumping out eminently successful marketing for an excellent phone. Round two of Verizon’s advertising for its newest Droids is beginning in a Hollywood style way with this Droid X promotional video that plays like a movie trailer. More »

Motorola’s Droid X is stirring quite a ruckus among smartphone connoisseurs and is bound to be a big seller for Verizon. Anyway, check the 720p embedded clip to see the three phones stressed, and why the Droid X is supreme. More »

From Htcyou: About 3 weeks before its launch, the Motorola Droid X has been dismantled for your viewing. Unlike the iPhone 4 leak, there is little chance of controversy here because (a) Motorola is nowhere near as secretive as Apple, (b) the Droid X, as coveted as it is, will never approach 15% of the iPhone 4’s sales, (c) Motorola has already announced and leaked the product, so it was not stolen or “found,” although I highly doubt that Moto has authorized this teardown. From Htcyou: To confound and frustrate fans some more, Verizon had mistakenly - just like the commercial slides leak - proclaimed that its forthcoming Motorola Droid X had a “720p display.” The unforgivable typo has been corrected, but fanboy hearts everywhere remain broken. More »

From Htcyou: The Motorola Droid X has been given a thorough hands-on tour, and the Android 2.1 smartphone features a special and new type of Motoblur GUI. Contrary to the misleading commercial slides leak wording, the Droid X does not have a 720p or a 720 PPI screen; regardless, the 4.4-Inch (854×480 same as the Droid) display appears to be stunning. On June 23rd, Verizon, Google, and Adobe are hosting an event in New York to unleash “the next generation of Droid.” One can presume that the Droid X, along with Flash 10.1 will be showcased.
