The situation is so dire that the European Commission is now suggesting that all MP3 music players have volume limits with an 85db maximum output. Union Square has just recieved its first technological guest, their new flagship BestBuy store that is open 24 hours a day. If you’re in the neighborhood and want to buy that new Blu-Ray player you’ve been eyeing, then you can pick it up here. This will be the first Best-Buy in the world that is open 24 hours a day and carries every major tech brand. Apparently, BestBuy stores across the country also carry musical instruments now, about 80 stores nationwide. Yeah, we were surprised too. They also carry a full DJ section with live sound equipment. The saga continues in the case of legendary rock group The Beatles versus a little known online music retailer named BlueBeat. In case you haven’t been following, BlueBeat has been selling Beatles tracks on the cheap at 25 cents a pop. The Beatles are notoriously protective of their music and have yet to allow any outside entity to sell their music. Not even Apple, creator of the hugely popular iTunes could get the band’s permission even though Apple Inc. and Apple Corp. have been in talks about possibly making the deal happen.The Beatles did release their music with an apple however. Last week, the band announced that the entire Beatles catalog would be sold on a limited edition apple-shaped USB. More »
