From Ningin: For most of us here, this week has been epic for the release of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII. I’m not even much of a gamer and I know this much. I also know that despite the title, FF XIII is more fantasy than it is final. This week we’d like to make your fantasy come true by giving away a copy of Final Fantasy XIII. More »

Eurocom specializes in high performance (and hideous) desktop replacement laptops. The D900F Panther is an absolute titan, boasting a desktop Intel i7-980x (3.33GHz) 6-core CPU, 1GB GDDR3 GTX 280M gaming card, 12 gigs of RAM, and dual 512Gb Sold-State hard drives. My configuration is one of the most expensive that Eurocom sells. More »

Competition in motion control gaming is waxing hot with Microsoft’s Natal and Sony’s Playstation Move about to vie against Nintendo’s Wii. The Playstation Move ad is shot in the same fashion as other recent PS3 commercials, teeming with attempts at humor and sarcasm. Whether it is funny or not is for you to decide. More »

One would think that in this sluggish economy, premium computer makers like Apple would languish, yet Jobs’ company posted its record best year. Not only did Apple gain market share in the under $1,000 PC price range, consumers who bought a computer over $1,000 overwhelmingly chose a Mac. From Wirebot:
By now we’ve all heard what the analysts and game developers think about the iPad, but what about the gamers? How do are we feel about the new tablet? We are thrilled, or at least should be. Since forever clever gamers have been taking apart their coveted consoles and resembling them into more compact shells so they can take their gaming on the road without suffering the drawbacks and limitations that come along with a portable gaming system. Most of the time these contraptions become pieces of fanboy high art, being much too bulky for logical usage. With the iPad, Apple has simplified our vision and gathered support from many developers. Now I know this is going to come off a little braggy, but that’s not my intention whatsoever. The idea is to get angry at the television manufactures, not me. So, here it goes. 2 years ago I got a 46” Samsung LCD for Christmas. Great, right? Well yeah, it was up until this year. This year I’ve ran into a little problem called, your-giant-TV-sucks-now. Sucks may be a bit of an exaggeration, but roll with. My setup consists of a cable box, PS3, Xbox 360, and a WD TV. Can you see my problem yet? Well if you can’t, it’s that I need 4 HDMI inputs and only have 2. Continue after the jump to here me complain some more. More »

From Ningin: The PC vs. Mac issue has been a pretty popular topic in the tech world as of late and let me tell you, it has affected everyone–not just the middle aged dude and Justin Long anymore. The contenders in the argument between PC users and Mac users have gotten younger and younger and finally, it’s gotten to the point where 4 year old Asian girls are throwing the gloves off and engaging in bare-knuckle fisticuffs as well. Well, maybe not quite but still, the fight is getting more intense. More »
