Peek is a fairly new company, and with any new company comes trial and error, eventually leading to success. The Peek, an email and messaging only device was created by Amol Sarva when he realized that his pregnant wife wanted a simple device, without all of the bells and whistles attached. When Peek was first released, it became a big hit, users didn’t have to worry about monthly bills and minutes, it was everything for a lump one time fee. More »
Okay, I’m not usually this much of a hater…scratch that, yes I am. With that said, the new TwitterPeek seems like a huge exercise in WTF. According to CNet, the device, which launched today is the first gadget solely dedicated to tweeting. Translation: There’s no email, no texting, no web browser — just tweeting. More »
Peek, the tiny device dedicated to email and messaging is now expanding to include social networking service, Twitter. The Peek is currently available in nationwide Blockbusters. Peek users who buy their device from any Blockbuster will also receive a free month of Blockbuster Total Access (similar to Netflix), and BR disks that can be received by mail or picked up in-store. Peek, the little startup that just turned 1 is offering a deal on its Peek email device. For $229 you can get a Peek Pronto with one year of service. For just $70 more, you can get the Peek Pronto with a lifetime of service. The Peek Pronto can handle up to 5 email accounts and offers services like unlimited texting, Twitter, Facebook, maps and weather. Its little brother the Peek only handles 3 accounts and lacks texting and social networks.
Now I’m not sure if you’ll be holding on to a device like this for more than 2 years; and I don’t know how many people would rather get one of these instead of a smartphone. Regardless, this is a great deal if you are in the market for a no frills email device or if you were planning buying and keeping a Peek for at least a year (Peek Pronto + 1 year service costs $300).
Amazon.com is offering up this deal and according to Peek, they have already sold out their first batch of devices. So, act quick if you want to get within the next couple weeks.
