As far as Sony is concerned in the US, it’s all about the PS3 and its predecessor the PS2 will live forever in history but in Japan it’s a whole different story as Sony has decided to fight against console aging by embedding the PS2 into a 22″ LCD Television. More »


Sony had been selling each PS3 console at massive losses since its launch in 2006. The PS3 Slim cut production costs and simplified the system, allowing Sony to break almost even at $300 per unit. For the first time in the PS3’s life, Sony is going to turn a profit on its investment. Meanwhile, Nintendo’s DS and variants have sold so well worldwide that it should overtake the Playstation 2 as the best selling gaming system in history. More »


NPD reports that for the first time in several years, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has earned first place in the monthly gaming console sales rankings. The 360 moved 422,000 units. Meanwhile, over in Japan, Sony’s PSP go continues to be a disaster, with 3-month sales totals of only 17,618 handhelds. More »
