Looks like Microsoft might actually be able to recover most of the Sidekick data that was lost over the weekend. It seems the cause wasn’t sabotage like previously thought. Here is Microsoft’s official explanation: More »
We all know about the disaster at Danger that resulted in the loss of all 400,00 Sidekick users’ data. One thing we don’t know is the official explanation. Neither Microsoft (owner of Danger) nor T-Mobile have released an official explanation.

During the weekend, Microsoft subsidiary Danger, the manufacturer of the Sidekick phone and the provider of Sidekick service experienced a serious server problem that resulted in the loss of all 800,000 Sidekick customer’s data. If wasn’t bad enough, there doesn’t seem to be a clear resolution in sight since Danger failed to keep a backup of the data. That is right, they never backed up 800,000 customers data. More »
