Sony has recently revealed that they are currently in the process of developing a phone camera sensor with 18 MP and the ability to fire off high speed burst photographs. It seems that Sony are growing in the photography area by the minute. The Nikkei, Japan’s largest business daily that is quite reputable for its reliability, have stated that Sony have been successful in developing a CMOS sensor which can “convert multiple pixels into signals simultaneously” for the next generation, meaning that conversion time would be saved by up to 75% compared to run-of-the-mill sensors. Just recently in Spain, Sony announced that they would be using on the rest of their Alpha DSLR camera range, like they have done with the a33 and a55, beam-splitting translucent mirrors instrad of conventional fully-reflective reflex mirrors on other DSLRs which have to swing out of the way to expose the camera’s sensor. Sony’s translucent mirrors lets light pass through the mirror instead, so that the reflex module does not delay the image taking process further. More »

Sony Japan has recently updated their websites for the NEX-3A, NEX-3K, and the NEX-3D, stating that they would stop producing all the three models of the camera.
