Guess what folks, the Tom Tom iPhone application is officially in the iTunes App Store. If you’re looking for turn-by-turn directions on your iPhone then it’s available. The store has region specific TomTom apps starting with New Zealand for $95, Australia ($80), US and Canada ($100) and Western Europe for $140.
Keep in mind these apps do not include the TomTom iPhone care kit, which was rumored to come bundled with the app for around $194. The kit mounts your iPhone to the dashboard or windshield for easier access. It’s been quite a wait for the TomTom app to be released but don’t buy the app until some reviews start pouring in. The TomTom GPS for the iPhone may end up costing around $200. That’s according to U.K. retailer Handtec, which is currently taking pre-orders for the iPhone app and kit for $164, and suggests a U.S. retail price might around $200. More »
