Sometimes an idea is just ahead of its time and sometimes…it’s just crap. According to Engadget, the folks over at Paramount Pictures and Kingston Technology are hoping that upcoming venture is the former and not the latter. The two are teaming up to offer full length movies on flash drives.
The initial fruit of this partnership is a 4GB Kingston DataTraveler drive featuring “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen” which is currently available for $29.99. Now the movie doesn’t take up the entire drive, but it’s unclear as to how much space remains for actual storage. And while this techie mash-up makes since on paper, it hasn’t taken off in previous iterations. Sony gave it a shot with the PSP and SanDisk crashed and burned with the ill-fated Sansa Clip and its microSD-based Slot Music. More »
