A new study from Ofcom, a media regulator, says kids aged 15 to 24 think social networking sites are lame. What’s causing this trend? Well it’s the older crowd, the 25-years and older, that’s pushing the younger kids away from social networking sites. More »

Whenever I log into my Facebook account, I find myself leaving within a few seconds. Something about the site just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. It probably has something to do with the fact that I’m no longer in college and keeping up with my friend’s drunken escapades are no longer a priority, nor do I care about that hot girl from one of my history classes freshmen or what the heck she does. So, what I to do to keep up with my friends when I need to find out what they’re doing or updates on their daily concerns/issues? I turn to Twitter. More »

A few days ago, we reported that Bill Gates had trouble using Facebook and ended up closing his account. Gates said he was getting too many friend requests, over ten thousand , and was overwhelmed by it. But unlike Gates, Martha Stewart decided to do a little Facebook bashing, saying “I don’t have to “befriend” and do all that other dippy stuff that they do on Facebook.”

Looks like alliances are being made with social networking sites. More »

I’m not one to get annoyed with many things but when it comes to Twitter, I get very annoyed with users who continue to make the same mistakes over and over, especially new users. I just wish sometimes people would Google some tips on how to make their Twitter experience better, instead of going in there blind, making mistakes that annoy the Twitter community and hurt their Twitter experience. Who would have thought the day would come when someone gets blocked from Twitter because they were Tweeting too much. Isn’t that the whole point of the social networking site?

Bonnie Smalley, a customer service rep for Comcast has been blocked from Twitter because she tweeted too many times within the hour. It’s not surprising to hear this news considering Twitter allows bots to send hundreds of messages within the hour and now they can’t even tell the difference between a hand typed messages and those sent by bots. If you can’t get enough of Twitter and Facebook and love pictures, then Kogan’s digiframe is just for you. Digital frames have been around for some time and offer a standstill frame that show pictures in a slide show mode. Since they’re not very popular, companies add all kinds of features to make them appealing.

Kogan decided to take it a step further by offering WiFi and the ability to read your Twitter feed and browse Facebook with it. More »

Yes, another Twitter post. I can’t help it - I like following the newest trends in tech, and this just happens to be the latest craze. Don’t worry though, if you’re not much of a Twitter/tweeter/twatter (like myself), rest assured that the fad will be over soon. People have even stopped talking about MySpace… right? More »

I give up. I really do. A Tweeting plant was already too much; Tweeting from your car is just obnoxious and a public safety hazard - but having a chair that Tweets your farts? Thank god we’re back in the realm of practicality. More »

What IS it with Twitter lately? Troubled American car company General Motors is looking to add Twitter integration with their OnStar service, a sort of built-in safety service that notifies the OnStar office if your vehicle has been in a crash or is being jacked. It’s quite a nice feature that deserves praise, but one must remember that they’re being installed in GM cars More »
