It has been rumored for quite awhile that Google has been planning on releasing its own phone; the Google phone. “Katie Watson, a Google representative, said on Sunday that the company has confirmed nothing about its plans for the Nexus One, described as a “dogfooding” experiment for internal testing by the company in a blog post Saturday” (CNN.com). The past few weeks (including today), we’ve been hearing rumors of a possible Google phone coming (mid-next year) to compete in the extremely crowded smartphone market. Along with that rumor, came that AT&T wants to be the exclusive data provider of the upcoming Google Phone. If those rumors hold true and AT&T hops in bed with Google, what does it mean for its exclusive rights to the iPhone?

On the surface, it doesn’t seem like AT&T and Apple are having any problems. I mean have you seen Apple’s latest commercials firing back at Verizon for the “Droid Does” commercials. Apple is defending AT&T like they’re best buds. More »

Well, well, well, looks like Apple is jumping in on the war against Verizon as well. Apple will be releasing two new ads starting tonight, that show off its ability to browse the web and talk at the same time, something that’s not allowed on almost every Verizon phone. This is a response to the “iDon’t” ads released by Verizon for the Droid, highlighting the things the iPhone is incapable of doing. With Apple firing back, Verizon is getting attacked from two sides, with AT&T doing its own thing to fight Verizon’s latest “there’s a map for that” ad.

If you haven’t ignored your television commercials lately, you’ve most likely come across Verizon ads that point out Apple’s lack of 3G coverage in parts of the US. Verizon even went as far as releasing an ad making fun of AT&T’s coverage crippling the iPhone (check it out after the break).

Well, AT&T didn’t sit back and take it. AT&T filed a lawsuit against Verizon for the “there’s a map for that” and then started new ads starring Luke Wilson, that are supposed to convince America that AT&T doesn’t have the shoddy coverage that Verizon claims. So, will it stop soon or will it continue till one of them gets fed up? With AT&T coming out with new ads, this may go on for some time. (check out the ads after the break) More »
